Lincoln Furniture Warehouse is shortlisted for Retail Systems 2007 ‘EPoS Innovation of the Year’ Award

EPoS & e-commerce technology company, Cybertill Limited, is proud that the system it has supplied to its client Lincoln Furniture Warehouse (LFW) has resulted in the company being shortlisted for a Retail Systems 2007 ‘EPoS Innovation of the Year’ award.
In this award category, the judging panel was looking for a retailer who has recently introduced an EPoS solution and who can demonstrate both the innovation of the system and the achievement of business benefits from its investment.
In the case of Lincoln Furniture Warehouse, the panel was impressed by the degree to which the new cybertill EPoS system has helped this small retailer to better manage its stock and its customer relationships, and become a more sophisticated and contemporary business.
LFW sells in-stock furniture for what is usually same-day take away. Prior to implementing cybertill, the company was working from manual processes. Although a single-store retailer, LFW’s requirements were in many ways as complex as those of its larger counterparts. It was looking for real-time stock management which would enable all their sales people to move around within the location, selling from the same display items and generating sales transactions from the shop floor, but not taking payment.
Made available on an ASP basis with data accessible via a broadband virtual private network connection, the cybertill solution has relieved LFW of the headache and cost of managing IT staff and an inhouse server, and of keeping its system up to date. LFW now use a wireless network and tablet PCs that allow sales staff to sell from the shop floor whilst transactions are moved around within the business to be finalised.
As a result, LFW has streamlined its operations and moved into the 21st century. It finds its new solution easy to use and cost-effective. Within only three months, LFW has improved stock management and has built a customer database. The CRM capability it now enjoys means that LFW can engage fully with its customers and undertake targeted marketing and promotions.
As and when LFW grows its business, it will be a seamless process to expand its cybertill system to manage multi-store operations.
Says Cybertill’s Sales Director, Rob Finley: “We are delighted that Lincoln Furniture Warehouse has been singled out for recognition and we are proud of the part that Cybertill has played in its success. LFW is now making use of a system which is sophisticated but easy-to-run and affordable.”
The winner of the ‘EPoS Innovation of the Year’ and a number of other awards will be announced at a ceremony to be held on Thursday 1st November 2007 at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel. |
