The Client – After Noah

After Noah first opened its doors as a retail outlet in 1990. It is based on a collaboration of the skills of a successful furniture restoration business and an international textile design house. The partners aim to provide a fresh and innovative shopping environment to bridge the gap between stuffy antique shops and soulless high street monopolies.

Today After Noah has two shops and a busy workshop servicing both stores and private clients. The shops, situated in Islington and Chelsea, sell a blend of antique and contemporary furniture, firmament, jewellery and gifts.

The Problem

"We had been on the look out for a stock control and till system that could cope with as diverse and complicated a range of products as we stock, but had become increasingly worried that such a flexible and imaginative system did not exist. We had looked at a large number of systems, all of which contained aspects which met our requirements, but in one major way or another, were sorely lacking".

After Noah had a legacy system that was PC driven from the back office but cash register driven from the front office. This had several shortcomings:

• Tills could not be used while edits for new products and price changes were being made.
• The system could not be used to provide stock or management information across the branches.

The Solution

cybertill's standard product suite was used to provide a solution that overcame the limitations of the legacy system:

• the core database
• stock control
• report module
• purchase order processing
• point of sale
• and e-commerce
